Alphonse Mucha / Unisex Sweatshirt
Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) was a Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist who rose to prominence during the Art Nouveau period and is renowned for his stylized and illustrative theater posters, but it was in the latter part of his career that he would create his most ambitious work - The Slav Epic. This monumental collection of twenty massive panels depicts the joys and sorrows of the mythology and history of the Czech and Slavic people. Mucha aimed to unite all the Slavs through this common history and mutual reverence for peace and learning, and to inspire them to work for humanity using their shared experience and virtues.
Elevated by Sinelang's remixed and re-colorized design, this jacket honors the final panel of Mucha's The Slav Epic series, Apotheosis of the Slavs which celebrates the triumphant victory of all the Slavs whose homelands in 1918 finally became their very own.
