eYES is a play on the words “eyes” and “yes” mashed together in meaning - eyes acknowledge through the act of seeing and being seen.
eYES is made with high-fire stoneware. This piece was a fun study of the sputnik sea urchin with a slight twist. Made first as a pinch-pot and then adorned with details on top, recesses were then carved with a wooden tool and then fired to be glazed and then fired once again. Selective details are adorned in precious 22 karat gold and fired for the last time.
