The word hearth conjures up many images around the element of fire and earth, it references the fixed center where matter alchemizes and changes state, the crucible where transformation takes place, as well as the center of a home where the family gathers around. Hearth is made with Babu high-fire porcelain. The main pieces are wheel thrown then added on top with details. Once sculpting is finished, the piece is slowly dried and then fired for the first time. It is then glazed and fired once more for the piece to reach its fully vitrified state. Selective details are then adorned with precious 22 karat gold and luster fired.
